In vegetable soils, the concentration of heavy metals was above the standard values except for Ni and As. The main physicochemical parameters measured for all soil samples were as follows: (I) the pH value was varied: the soils were slightly acidic, with mean pH values of 6.25 and 6.51, and a range of 5.47-7.46 and 4.70-7.40 for paddy and vegetable soils, respectively. (II) Organic matter contents of paddy soils were equal to those of vegetable soils, with an OM range of 2.74-8.66% and 2.07-8.68% for paddy and vegetable soils, respectively. (III) The average CEC values in paddy and vegetable soils were 11.6 and 11.9 cmol/kg, with a range of 4.8-19.0 cmol/kg and 5.7-20.3 cmol/kg, respectively. Heavy metal concentrations in tailing, paddy soil, and vegetable soil are presented in Table 4.
